The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council has announced the 48th edition of the Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE), set to take place from August 4–6, 2025, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
With the theme: “Building a Sustainable Energy Future: Leveraging Technology, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Policy”, NAICE 2025 aims to ignite transformative dialogue and solutions across Nigeria’s energy ecosystem. The conference will bring together key industry players, policymakers, academics, and innovators to explore practical pathways for advancing a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive energy transition.
“This year’s theme is both a challenge and an invitation—to align bold ideas with effective policy, marry digital talent with local realities, and infuse global innovation with homegrown creativity,” said Engr Amina Danmadami, PhD, Chairperson of the SPE Nigeria Council.
According to a media statement released to the press, a major highlight of NAICE 2025 will be the exploration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and data analytics, showcasing their role in boosting operational excellence, driving environmental sustainability, and enhancing safety and cost-efficiency across the oil and gas value chain.
Beyond technology, the conference will underscore the importance of localising Nigeria’s energy supply chain—from manufacturing to logistics and service delivery. Strengthening local capacity, encouraging indigenous innovation, and reducing foreign dependencies are all critical for long-term energy sustainability and economic empowerment.
“Technology alone cannot build our energy future. We need visionary leadership, a digitally skilled workforce, and empowered local capacity to reimagine our energy story,” Engr Danmadami emphasized.
NAICE 2025 is also expected to give prominence to human capital development, focusing on reskilling the workforce, promoting inclusive leadership, and creating opportunities for new entrants, especially those with expertise in sustainability and digital innovation.
As part of its commitment to inclusion, SPE Nigeria will highlight its strategic efforts to support young professionals, students, and women in energy. Programs such as mentorship schemes, innovation challenges, academic partnerships, and the Women-in-Energy platform will be showcased as tools to build a new generation of dynamic and diverse energy leaders.
Through keynote sessions, technical presentations, and interactive workshops, SPE has promised that NAICE 2025 will be a pivotal platform for shaping Nigeria’s sustainable energy trajectory.
