Lagos Housing Ministry Trains Monitoring Officers
As part of its continuous efforts to promote sustainable housing for residents of Lagos State, the Ministry of Housing recently organised a two-day in-house training for its Monitoring and Compliance Officers.
The training, with the theme “Enhancing Effective Monitoring of State Housing Estates,” is a strategic step by the Ministry to reinforce compliance with housing policies and regulations, ensuring orderly management and better living conditions across government-owned housing estates.
The Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, who chaired the event reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to providing sustainable housing solutions for Lagosians.
Earlier, while declaring the training open, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola emphasised the importance of capacity building in improving service delivery and maintaining high standards within housing estates.
The objectives of the training include: Reinforcing housing guidelines and regulations, enhancing monitoring and enforcement processes, strengthening officers’ understanding of operational procedures, developing practical monitoring skills, improving enforcement mechanisms, and promoting order and compliance in housing estates.
This initiative underscores the Ministry’s unwavering dedication to improving the quality of housing, promoting orderly estate management, and fostering sustainable living for all Lagosians.
