The Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI) have agreed to explore potential areas of collaboration to drive economic growth and development in Nigeria.
The National Programme Manager of GEEP, Mr. Hamza Ibrahim Baba, made this known during a meeting with the Executive Secretary of PreCEFI, Dr Nuruddeen Abubakar Zauro. The discussion focused on ways to leverage their shared vision of reducing poverty through citizen empowerment, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Mr. Baba provided an overview of the GEEP program, highlighting its objectives and strategies. He emphasized that GEEP 3.0 is committed to achieving sustainable development and underscored the importance of their partnership in driving impactful change.
He explained that GEEP is a government initiative designed to provide financial support and empowerment to small businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly those in the informal sector, to promote economic growth and job creation.
Zauro expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with GEEP in several key areas, including digital identity initiatives, co-hosting events, co-creating programs, and conducting joint fieldwork. He assured that his technical team would work closely with GEEP to ensure successful collaboration.
Both parties are committed to working together to drive economic empowerment and inclusion in Nigeria.
