Mrs Soludo applauds Anambra school for winning UK global innovation contest
Wife of the Anambra Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has congratulated students of Myrtle Vine Academy, Onitsha, Anambra, for their achievement at the Global School Connect Tournament held in London, United Kingdom.
Recall that Myrtle Vine Academy represented Nigeria in 2025 ‘Global Schools Connect’ competition and competed with some United Kingdom-based schools and other schools from around the world.
The students triumphed in a project titled ‘BizApp’, a creative solution born to confront Africa’s unemployment and production crisis head-on.
The event which was held virtually on June 19, is designed to foster creative talents and sharpen the critical thinking, oratory and reasoning skills of students from all participating countries.
Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, said the students’ achievement reflects Anambra’s enduring legacy of excellence.
“By demonstrating extraordinary intelligence, our students outperformed their counterparts from other countries to win the Director’s Award for Social Enterprise.
“They also secured the runner-up position in the Creative Impact Award category.
“These brilliant children have once again demonstrated the universal identity of Anambra state as a cradle of greatness and distinction,” she said.
Soludo commended the management of the school for their commitment to academic excellence and for exposing their students to global platforms.
“I commend the school’s leadership for investing in quality education and creating opportunities for students to engage in competitive academic environments.
“Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration remains committed to ensuring that every child in the state has access to quality, inclusive and competitive education.
“May Anambra continue to shine,” she added.
