The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, FNSE, FNICE, have emphasized the vital link between mining and water resources, stressing the importance of geophysical research in projects like dam construction and irrigation. He also called for stronger collaboration between the Ministry and NMGS to advance geoscience research and innovations for national development.
The Minister said this during a courtesy visit paid by the President and Executive Members of the Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS).
NMGS President, Prof. Akintunde Olatunji, reaffirmed the society’s mission to promote mining, earth sciences, and metallurgy while fostering professional excellence. He invited the Minister to NMGS’s award event from February 18–21, themed “Transforming the Mineral, Energy, Construction, and Environment Sector through Innovation.”
The visit concluded with a plaque presentation and the handover of research materials to the Minister. Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, and senior ministry officials.

Amazing blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused .. Any recommendations? Thanks!
