Casio Computer Co Ltd. Tokyo, Japan has confirmed it has obtained the Nigerian Conformity Assessment Program (SONCAP) certification from the Standards Organization of Nigeria, for its three models of scientific calculators, primarily sold in Nigeria.
The is contained in a statement to newsmen on Sunday in Lagos.
SONCAP is Nigeria’s unique import control system, implemented by the SON, and launched on September 1, 2005; with the aim of eliminating non-genuine and counterfeit foreign products.
“We have applied SONCAP because scientific calculators are an important tool for Mathematics education in Nigeria.
“This is the first time Casio has received SONCAP certification.
“CASIO scientific calculators certified by SONCAP includes FX-9910NGPLUS-2WDT, FX-991ESPLUS-2WDTV and FX-82MS-2-W-DH-F
“Of the three certified models, the “fx-9910NGPLUS” is an affordable scientific calculator that is durable, easy to use and has the high mathematical performance required for school education in Nigeria.
“It has already been recommended by the Curriculum Service of Lagos state and a sticker to that effect is affixed to the bottom of the box”, the statement stated.
The statement urged the general public to contact the distributor, SKLD Integrated Service Limited for inquiries regarding the Fx-9910NGPLUS.
