TechnipFMC has been awarded a contract by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company to supply subsea production systems for the Bonga North development in Nigeria, TechnipFMC announced on Tuesday.
Under the contract, TechnipFMC will design and manufacture subsea tree systems, manifolds, jumpers and controls and provide associated services. The value of the contract was not disclosed but TechnipFMC indicated it to lie between USD 250 million-500 million.
The Bonga North project includes drilling eight production and eight water injection wells at the Bonga deepwater development in Oil Mining Licence 118, as well as carrying out modifications to the existing FPSO and the subsea tie-back. Shell announced it had reached a FID on the project on Monday.
“Shell was the first to adopt our Subsea 2.0 solution and continues to deploy it across multiple basins – underscoring its commitment to the technology globally. This award further positions us for future deepwater opportunities in the region,” said Jonathan Landes, president of Subsea at TechnipFMC.
