Amid worsening queues and increasing costs of fuel, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NNPC) has stated that the disruption in unavailability of fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.
According to a statement by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Femi Soneye, the NNPCL is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.
This disruption has enabled the resurgence of arbitrary price increases by marketers as well as a resurgent black market with fuel costs going as high as N1,300 per litre.
