The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Management team and USAID Mission Director, Ms Jones and the U.S. President’s Advisory Council on Africa Engagement (PACADE) had a roundtable discussion to deepen and strengthen Diaspora Engagement between Nigeria and United States in areas of investment, education, youth empowerment entrepreneurship, trade and creative industries.
This historic trip by the US President’s Advisory Council on Africa Engagement marks the FIRST visit to Africa, aiming to foster diaspora-led investments in key sectors.
Discussions centred on highlighting the Nigeria – U.S. Partnership in order to drive significant changes and make impacts.
It was noted that there is capacity for investment from the diaspora and investment money from the diaspora must be tapped into.
It was stated at the roundtable discussion that Diaspora fund should be project bound for Real Estate, Agriculture, Technology, Infrastructure; with a consensus that the power of the Diaspora must be maximized towards development.
