- Immediate containment and safety procedures initiated
A fire has been reported at a section of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, Nigeria.
Though the cause of the incident is yet to be announced, the management of the Refinery have announced the successful containment of the blaze which occurred at its effluent treatment plant (ETP).
In their statement, the refinery assured, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday 26th of June. There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating, and there is no recorded injury or harm to any of our staff on duty.”
Exclusive information obtained by Environment Africa confirms that the fire occurred at a service unit and did not affect any process units. This ensures that operations will continue without interruption.
