- inspects and assesses Water facilities at South East, Central, North East Regions
The Lagos Water Corporation Managing Director, Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani has reiterated his commitment to strengthen Water Facilities for Improved service delivery in the State.
Engr Tijani made this assertion yesterday, Thursday 27th July, 2023 during his ongoing inspection and assessment of Water facilities at South East, Central and North East Region of LWC coverage areas, which included Iponri, Surulere, Itire Ikate, Shomolu and Ikeja I Waterworks.
During the inspection tour, Engr. Tijani emphasized his unwavering dedication and commitment to ensuring that LWC Waterworks facilities are strengthened for improved service delivery to the State’s residents.
The Water Corporation boss was accompanied by the Executive Director, Operations, Engr. (Mrs.) Helen Omolanke Taiwo and Director, Production, Engr. Agiri Mustapha to various plants and waterworks facilities including Pump houses, Panel rooms, Laboratories, Doping pump stations, Pressure filters, Clarifier, Aeration tanks, Surface storage tanks, Overhead tanks, Transfer pumps, Stores, Boreholes, Distribution and Generator rooms, Administrative offices, among other facilities.
Other notable staff who took the chief executive round the facilities inspection were: Regional Business Manager South East, Mrs. Fapojuwo Foluke, RBM Central, Mr. Aderibigbe Teslim and RBM North East, Mr. Abraham.
Also, Production Manager Iponri, Mr. Benjamin Oladipupo; PM Surulere, Mr. Balogun Olanrewaju; PM Itire Ikate, Felix Ogunbande; RSC Manager, Mrs. Sade Sodimu; Regional HR, South East, Mrs. Toyin Akinyemi; Regional Distribution Manager, South East, Engr. Laide Obeto; RQA, Mrs. Odujebe Ifetosan; RSCM, Mr. Bisiriyu Fasassi, RDM Central, Engr. Fasugba Lanre; Regional Water Quality Assurance Manager, Mrs. Taiwo Ganiat,
among others.

Various issues were raised during the inspection tour, particularly, on plants designed capacity, production capacity, and generally facilities efficiency etc to ascertain issues that require urgent attention. Notable challenges associated with the inefficiency of the waterworks mentioned included: Power supply and Borehole issues, Aeration tank and Generator problems, among others,
Earlier, Engr. Tijani had inspected facilities at the major Waterworks of Iju, 70MGD Adiyan I and on-going 70MGD Adiyan phase II, Akute Intakes. Others: Agege, Isheri-Oke, Badore, Lekki, Dolphin, Victoria Island Annex, Saka Tinubu, Alexander, and Ikoyi Waterworks to determine the capacity and efficiency of the various plants.
