Due to meteorological conditions, the Environmental Protection Ministry warns of very high air pollution in the Negev due to high concentrations of respiratory particles in the air.
The air pollution is associated with a deep depression over the eastern Mediterranean, causing strong winds that carry dust from Sinai and local sandstorms. Improved air quality is forecast for tonight.
The Environmental Protection Ministry, in consultation with the Health Ministry, recommends that sensitive populations – including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children and pregnant women – avoid strenuous physical activity outside. For the general population it is recommended to reduce strenuous exercise outside.
