L-R: Engr. Victor Agbaroji new MD/CEO, Chief Oseni Elamah, Chairman of the Board and Engr. Charles Odita outgoing MD/CEO during the Board Members of Ingentia Energies Limited welcoming the new Managing Director
Indigenous oil and gas company Ingentia Energies Limited has recorded a 150 per cent increase in production under the leadership of its outgoing Interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Charles Odita, as Engr. Victor Agbaroji assumes the top executive position with a mandate to drive the company’s next phase of growth.
Agbaroji formally assumed office as Managing Director/CEO on September 1, succeeding Odita, who served as interim MD/CEO from March to August 2026. The transition comes as Ingentia moves to consolidate recent operational gains and expand production, drilling and asset development.
The company’s Board of Directors, in a letter signed by its Chairman, Chief Oseni Elamah, commended Odita for what it described as transformational leadership, citing the substantial increase in production as a key achievement of his tenure.
The Board said Odita’s tenure represented an important period in Ingentia Energies’ development, marked by strategic focus, execution and operational growth.
The commendation followed a meeting in Lagos attended by both Odita and Agbaroji as part of the formal leadership transition.
Agbaroji sets out growth priorities
Taking over the leadership of the company, Agbaroji said management would build on the operational foundation established during Odita’s tenure while pursuing a more expansive growth strategy.
His priorities include strengthening drilling operations, maximising existing assets, improving cost competitiveness, expanding the company’s portfolio and unlocking greater value from its gas resources.
Agbaroji said the immediate focus would be on strengthening the company’s drilling campaign through the seismic acquisition programme currently underway.
“Our immediate focus is to strengthen the next phase of our drilling campaign by leveraging the seismic acquisition programme currently underway. This will enable us to execute a more robust and efficient drilling programme while improving exploration outcomes and operational performance,” Agbaroji said.
The new MD/CEO also identified crude oil evacuation infrastructure as an important component of future production growth, indicating that the company would intensify efforts to advance its pipeline evacuation project.
The strategy comes as Ingentia continues to develop its upstream portfolio. The company is the operator of PPL 202, which covers the Egbolom Field, and its operations are focused on the efficient development of its oil and gas resources.
Building on recent production gains
Agbaroji acknowledged the progress recorded under Odita and said the new management would seek to sustain the momentum while leveraging the institutional knowledge and experience developed during the outgoing CEO’s tenure.
The leadership transition therefore comes at a point when Ingentia is seeking to translate recent production gains into a broader programme of asset development, drilling, infrastructure expansion and operational efficiency.
The company’s stated growth priorities include cost competitiveness, infrastructure improvement, value creation, talent development and operational excellence.
With more than two decades of experience across the energy industry, Agbaroji brings a background spanning engineering, upstream operations, production optimisation, asset development and strategic leadership. His previous roles include senior positions at Shell and leadership positions in joint-venture operations before his appointment at Ingentia Energies.
For Ingentia, the change in leadership marks a transition from a period of accelerated operational growth under Odita to a new phase focused on scaling production, strengthening infrastructure and maximising the value of its oil and gas assets.
The company said its broader objective remains the sustainable development of its energy resources and the creation of long-term value for stakeholders.
