It was a moment of pride, inspiration, and celebration at Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls’ High School as ANIFOWOSHE BOLUWATIFE AFSOH emerged as the school’s One-Day Principal for the 2025/2026 academic session, underscoring the institution’s commitment to raising future leaders grounded in excellence, discipline, and integrity.

The colourful event, which attracted parents, alumni, education stakeholders, students, and distinguished guests, formed part of the school’s annual One-Day Principal and Leadership Grooming Programme—an initiative designed to expose students to practical leadership and administrative responsibilities beyond the classroom.
For Boluwatife Afsoh, the recognition was not merely ceremonial; it represented the reward for consistency, strong character, academic dedication, and demonstrated leadership potential within the school community.
Speaking during the occasion, the school principal, Alhaja Sherifat B. Muhammed, described the programme as a strategic platform for nurturing future professionals, policymakers, and responsible citizens.

According to her, the initiative allows students to gain firsthand experience in leadership, communication, decision-making, teamwork, and institutional management while helping them understand the discipline and responsibility required to lead effectively.
She noted that leadership goes beyond titles and positions, emphasizing that true leadership is rooted in service, accountability, cooperation, and the ability to positively influence others.
“The programme is aimed at building confidence, character, and leadership capacity in our students while preparing them for future responsibilities in society,” she stated.
Dressed elegantly and visibly emotional, Boluwatife Afsoh delivered a heartfelt address before the audience, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah, the school management, teachers, parents, and fellow students for their support and encouragement.
She described the occasion as a memorable milestone in the history of the school and encouraged students to remain focused, disciplined, and determined in pursuing their ambitions.
“Do your best and leave the rest,” she advised, while reminding students of the importance of preparation using the principle: “Prior Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.”
She further urged her peers to embrace honesty, respect, hard work, and good character, noting that every decision made as students contributes to shaping their future.
The leadership exercise also produced other outstanding student leaders, including Ms Ojo Radia, who emerged as One-Day Vice Principal (Administration), Ms Adeyemi Mariam as One-Day Vice Principal (Academic), and Ms Hamza Saheedah as One-Day Secretary. Their emergence reflected the school’s broader commitment to grooming young girls for leadership, administration, teamwork, and public responsibility.
Observers at the event noted that the selected students distinguished themselves through academic excellence, confidence, leadership qualities, and active participation in school activities—attributes that aligned with the values promoted by the One-Day Principal initiative.
The ceremony also showcased the school’s growing commitment to innovation and educational development with the commissioning of several projects, including a School Solar System, a Renovated School Library, and an E-learning Library aimed at enhancing learning and expanding students’ access to modern educational resources.
Among dignitaries present were ASP Orukotan Charles and Alhaja Folashade I. King, who attended as Special Guest of Honour and Mother of the Day respectively.
The event also recognized the contributions of Boluwatife’s parents to her upbringing and success. Her father, ANIFOWOSHE RASAQ OLATUNBOSUN, serves as Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs and Brand Management at Lagos Water Corporation, while her mother, Engr. (Mrs.) Rasheedat Anifowoshe Adebisi, is a professional with Julius Berger Nigeria Plc.

Education stakeholders at the gathering commended the programme for promoting experiential learning and leadership development at an early age, noting that such initiatives help students cultivate confidence, civic consciousness, and emotional intelligence needed for nation-building.
Beyond celebrating one student’s achievement, the One-Day Principal programme reflected the school’s broader philosophy that education should not only produce academically sound students but also responsible, visionary, and socially conscious leaders prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.
As the event came to a close, the atmosphere remained filled with excitement and aspiration, with many students inspired by Boluwatife Afsoh’s emergence and the powerful message that excellence, discipline, preparation, and good character remain essential foundations for leadership and success.
