The Association of Local Distributors of Gas (ALDG) is set to convene regulators, industry executives, investors, and energy stakeholders at the second edition of the ALDG Business Forum 2026, scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the PTDF Building, Abuja.
The forum, themed “From Gas Abundance to Gas Access: Reassessing Nigeria’s Gas Distribution Imperatives,” will focus on advancing domestic gas utilisation, strengthening energy security, and accelerating industrial growth through improved gas distribution infrastructure and market reforms.
Industry discussions are expected to examine critical issues shaping Nigeria’s downstream gas sector, including infrastructure deficits, regulatory alignment, pricing mechanisms, financing models, and the expansion of gas access across industries and communities. Stakeholders are also expected to explore the role of gas as a transition fuel capable of supporting manufacturing, powering economic growth, and enabling a more sustainable national energy mix.
The event will feature high-level participation from regulators and leading players in the oil and gas industry, including keynote addresses, goodwill messages, and technical contributions from sector experts and policy leaders.
A major highlight of the forum will be two strategic panel sessions focused on translating policy into measurable industry outcomes. The first session, “From Policy to Performance: Unlocking Demand, Industrialisation & Energy Security,” will examine pathways for scaling domestic gas utilisation and strengthening industrial competitiveness. The second session, “Building a Bankable Gas Distribution Ecosystem: Infrastructure, Capital & Market Design,” will focus on financing, infrastructure development, and creating a commercially sustainable gas distribution market in Nigeria.
The 2026 edition has already secured sponsorship support from major industry organisations, including Tetracore, Axxela, Shell Nigeria Gas, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited, Powergas, Bluebulb Financials Ltd, and Highland LNG, reflecting growing industry commitment to Nigeria’s gas distribution and energy transition agenda.
Another key feature of the event will be the official launch of Downstream Gas Magazine, a new industry knowledge platform aimed at deepening policy conversations, strengthening sector intelligence, and promoting thought leadership within Nigeria’s downstream gas ecosystem.
Speaking ahead of the forum, Kehinde Alabi, Chairman of ALDG and Managing Director of Axxela Gas Distribution, said the event would provide a strategic platform for aligning stakeholders around practical solutions capable of unlocking gas access and supporting Nigeria’s industrialisation ambitions.
Also commenting, John Kadiri, Executive Secretary of ALDG and Managing Director/CEO of Alpha Maxvalue Energy and Renewables Ltd, described the forum as an important platform for operational collaboration and policy engagement, noting that the launch of Downstream Gas Magazine would help institutionalise knowledge-sharing across the sector.
The ALDG Business Forum 2026 is expected to reinforce ongoing efforts to position natural gas as a key driver of Nigeria’s energy transition, industrial development, and long-term economic transformation.
