The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MBSE) has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the education sector through stronger collaboration, data‑driven decision‑making, and student-centred reforms.
The Permanent Secretary of MBSE, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu‑Adegbite, speaking at a stakeholders engagement with Education District VI, emphasised unity and collective responsibility as the foundation for progress.
“We have moved forward from where we were, though we are not yet where we want to be. Change is never easy, but it is necessary for our students, for the confidence the state government has placed in us, and for the future of Lagos State,” she stated.
She emphasised that the key priorities of the government include:
- Enhanced collaboration between the ministry and education districts,
- Data‑driven policies to strengthen public secondary schools,
- Unity of purpose among stakeholders, and
- Student-centred reforms to ensure no child is left behind.
Mrs. Dokunmu‑Adegbite stressed that this is “an era of collaborative decision‑making”, and urged stakeholders to work together as “one big family” to change the trajectory of education in Lagos State.
Earlier, while welcoming the Ministry’s delegation, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it would “strengthen the bond between the ministry and the district”, as well as inspire continued efforts to deliver quality education for every child.
The ministry’s vision is to position education at the forefront of Lagos State’s development, equipping students with the skills and confidence to contribute meaningfully to society.
