Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has concluded the second edition of its #NLNGChangeYourStory media workshop for 2026 in Lagos, bringing together journalists to explore how emerging technologies are reshaping reporting and newsroom practices.
The training programme convened 40 participants from various media organisations to examine the evolving landscape of journalism as artificial intelligence, data tools, and digital platforms increasingly influence news production and audience engagement.
Discussions during the workshop focused on the growing role of digital technologies in enabling real-time reporting, cross-border audience reach, and deeper interaction with readers and viewers through online platforms.
Speaking at the session, Sophia Horsfall, General Manager for External Relations and Sustainable Development at NLNG, said the initiative is part of the company’s broader engagement with the media and reflects the importance of credible reporting in shaping public understanding of sectors such as energy, economic development, and sustainability.
She encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training to strengthen the quality and depth of their reporting.
“NLNG views this engagement as a strategic partnership. We provide the energy that powers nations and generates revenue for our nation; you provide the information that powers our minds,” Horsfall said.
“We will be proud when the insights from this workshop translate into stronger features, broadcasts, and investigative reports.”
The workshop featured expert-led sessions and practical learning components. Digital communication specialist Dan Mason led discussions on digital storytelling and audience engagement, while veteran journalist Taiwo Obe facilitated a journalism clinic focused on newsroom practices.
Participants also received training in data visualisation, digital verification, and managing online presence, areas that have become increasingly important as newsrooms adapt to technology-driven reporting environments.
Organisers said the #NLNGChangeYourStory programme is designed to support the evolving skills needs of journalists as the media industry continues to transition toward digital-first reporting models.
Since its launch, the initiative has trained more than 400 journalists across different editions, with a focus on strengthening digital communication and social media reporting skills.

There is noticeably a bundle to learn about this. I assume you made certain nice points in features also.
