- Project Delivered Without Any Lost Time Incident across 17.5-million-man hours
- To Operate With Zero Routine Flares.
- With 16MW Power Plant and Other Supporting Facilities
The 300 MMscfd ANOH Gas Project has achieved first gas. This represents a major operational milestone following the completion of the 11km Indorama gas export pipeline and the receipt of regulatory approval from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
On 16 January 2026, ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) began supplying gas to the Indorama Petrochemical Plant under firm and interruptible Gas Sales Agreements (GSAs), with four upstream wells, previously on standby since November 2025, brought online to enable the flow of gas.
According to a statement from Seplat Energy, the parent company of ANOH Gas, since the commencement of gas supply, wet gas production has stabilized at 40–52 MMscfd, directly feeding the Indorama facility.
Condensate production has reached 2.0–2.5 kboepd and is expected to grow further as the plant ramps up toward its design capacity.
Preparations are also underway to begin sales of processed gas to Nigeria LNG (NLNG) under an interruptible offtake arrangement, which will support further scaling toward the plant’s 300 MMscfd design capacity. Meanwhile, construction of the OB3 pipeline export route by the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC), originally planned as the primary route for ANOH gas supply to the domestic market, has resumed, with a revised completion date to be announced.
The ANOH gas plant, developed by AGPC, a joint venture between Seplat Energy and NGIC, comprises two 150 MMscfd gas processing units, LPG recovery units, condensate stabilization units, a 16MW power plant, and other supporting facilities. Notably, the facility has been designed to operate with zero routine flares. Across the unitized fields of OML 53 and OML 21, the plant unlocks an estimated 4.6 Tcf of condensate-rich gas. Seplat’s working interest 2P reserves in the unitized field, as of year-end 2024, stood at 0.8 Tcf, providing the company with revenue streams from wet gas sales and dividends from its 50% equity ownership in AGPC.
In addition to gas and condensate, LPG production from the ANOH plant, combined with output from Sapele and the Bonny River Terminal (BRT), positions Seplat as a leading supplier of clean cooking fuel in Nigeria. The facility will also process flared gas from the Ohaji field, supporting the company’s onshore End of Routine Flaring program, a key commercial and sustainability initiative.
The ANOH gas project was completed without a single Lost Time Incident (LTI) across 17.5 million man-hours, reflecting a strong commitment to safe and secure operations.
Seplat Energy’s CEO, Roger Brown, described the milestone as a strategically important development for the company, its partner NGIC, and Nigeria
“ANOH is the first of the seven critical gas development projects identified by Federal Government of Nigeria to commence operations. It is an important strategic project for Seplat, our partner NGIC, and Nigeria as a whole. It has taken a significant amount of commitment and hard work to complete the project in a part of the onshore Niger Delta with limited gas pipeline infrastructure, and we are extremely proud of this achievement. This is our third major gas processing facility onshore and increases our Joint Venture gross gas processing capacity onshore to over 850 MMscfd.
“ANOH will provide material income streams for Seplat, reduce our carbon intensity and contribute significantly to the 2030 production target of 200 kboepd, set at our recent CMD. It will also increase energy access for Nigerians in terms of both power and clean cooking fuel for the local communities, while advancing delivery of our mission to support economic prosperity in Nigeria.” Brown said.
