In a statement released to Newsmen, 10 of the selected scholars will pursue their postgraduate studies at universities abroad, while the remaining 20 will study at Nigerian institutions.
The winners will focus on Engineering, Geosciences, Petroleum and Environmental Technology, Energy Economics, Renewable Energy, and Energy Transition.
At the award ceremony held in Abuja, NAE Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Fabrizio Bolondi, congratulated the recipients, emphasizing the company’s commitment to educational advancement and capacity building in Nigeria.
“The award ceremony highlights our continuous commitment to the future of education, innovation, and capacity building in Nigeria,” Bolondi said.
The NAE MD further encouraged the beneficiaries to leverage the scholarship opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will benefit not only their careers but also the country’s energy sector.
Present at the ceremony were representatives of NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services (NUIMS), including Mrs. Edith Bunmi-Lawson, Manager of External Relations, and Mr. Paul Duke, Deputy Manager PSC Asset A3.
The NAE Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2007 as a human capital development initiative. Designed to bridge the skills gap in disciplines critical to Nigeria’s deep offshore oil and gas operations, the program has supported over 350 Nigerian graduates to date.
Beyond education, Eni—through NAE—has been active in sustainability and community development initiatives across Nigeria. These include projects in healthcare, education, water access, infrastructure development, and stakeholder empowerment in host communities.
Established in 1996, NAE manages Eni’s deep offshore exploration and production assets in Nigeria. It was the first oil and gas company to commence deep offshore production in the country and currently holds interests in six offshore blocks, operating either as a lead operator or co-venturer.
Eni’s operations in Nigeria also extend through Agip Energy and Natural Resources (AENR) and its equity participation in key assets such as the Renaissance Joint Venture, OML 135 and 118 (Bonga field), and Nigerian LNG.
