Emergency responders rescue 4 persons from Yaba building collapse
Emergency responders have rescued four persons(male) from 3 storey building that collapsed under construction on Friday night at Yaba, a suburb of Lagos.
Mrs Ibitayo Adenike, Acting Head, National Emergency Management Agency (Lagos Operations Office) disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
Adenike said that the building collapsed on Friday night by 8.30 p.m. at No 333 Borno street, Alagomeji, Yaba trapping several persons.
“Four persons(male) have been rescued and taken to the hospital,” Adenike said.
She said that the number of persons under the rubble of the building could not be ascertained until it is brought to ground zero.
She added that search and rescue operation was still ongoing.
She listed emergency responders at the scene to include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building and Control Agency, the Nigeria Police Force, among others.
