- Maiden NAEC Industry Awards to be unveiled
High level stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil, gas, power, mines, steel, and solid minerals have confirmed their attendance at the upcoming 2025 Annual Conference of the Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC); set to hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Eko Hotel in Lagos.
Among the confirmed speakers are Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil); Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas); Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power; Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); Engr. Farouk Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority; and Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Limited.
In a statement jointly signed by Mr. Ugo Amadi, NAEC Chairman, and Dr. Adeola Yusuf, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, the theme of this year’s event is: “Nigeria’s Energy Future: Exploring Opportunities and Addressing Risks for Sustainable Growth.”
The organisers also confirmed that Dr. Uche Ogah, President of Masters Energy Group, will chair the 2025 conference. They added that the gathering will convene policymakers, regulators, operators, and stakeholders for robust deliberations on the future of Nigeria’s energy industry.
According to the programme, the conference will feature three technical panel sessions. Discussions will cover upstream oil and gas growth, midstream and downstream infrastructure investments, and power sector opportunities with emphasis on renewable energy.
A key highlight of the 2025 edition will be the launch of the maiden NAEC Industry Awards, aimed at promoting accountability and inclusivity in the energy sector. Organisers said the awards will feature merit-based categories designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across the industry.
Dr. Yusuf noted that the NAEC Energy Conference has earned a strong reputation as one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and industry networking. He added that the introduction of the awards segment is expected to set a new benchmark for transparency and recognition in the sector.
Registration for the conference is now open through NAEC’s official website. In addition, a pre-conference workshop for NAEC members, sponsored by a leading Nigerian energy company, will be held later this month.
