The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, is set to host the Year 2025 Stakeholders’ Forum on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, to deepen dialogue between government and critical stakeholders in the wealth creation and employment ecosystem.
The forum is expected to bring together participants from the public and private sectors, civil society, NGOs, professional groups, entrepreneurs, artisans, recruiters, and other partners to exchange perspectives, review interventions, and propose new solutions to challenges in the sector.
Speaking ahead of the forthcoming event, the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, stated that the Stakeholders’ Forum is a critical avenue to strengthen collaboration, foster innovation, and reinforce the government’s commitment to empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as expanding job creation opportunities for Lagosians.
He recalled that the 2024 edition recorded over 400 participants and produced actionable feedback that shaped several Ministry programmes, noting that the 2025 edition has been deliberately expanded to accommodate about 550 participants to capture more voices and broaden the base of interventions.
“Additionally, this year’s forum will build on the deliverables of the 2024 edition while addressing unresolved issues and identifying new areas of intervention under the 2025 budget cycle. We are sustaining our feedback loops through surveys and continuous engagement while also inviting past and present beneficiaries of our programmes to share their impact stories. This will help us better assess outcomes and strengthen programme delivery,” Ajigbotafe said.
According to him, expected outcomes from the engagement include improved information sharing, stronger collaboration, better decision-making, and more inclusive initiatives that reflect the needs of stakeholders and citizens alike.
In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary, Wealth Creation and Employment, ESV. Wasiu Adebayo Olayinka explained that the Forum will serve as a feedback loop for stakeholders and a platform to chart fresh interventions that align with the government’s employment and entrepreneurship agenda.
He added that the Ministry remains committed to strengthening partnerships that deliver tangible results for Lagosians, while also attracting new partners and consolidating existing ones through the creation of a strategic liaison team that will drive sustainable partnership engagements across sectors.
