The Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy & Development (FENRAD) has extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Director General and Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), Mrs Omotenioye Majekodunmi.
According to the Executive Director of FENRAD, Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, Mrs. Majekodunmi’s appointment comes at a time when Nigeria stands at a pivotal crossroads in the global climate discourse. With the increasing urgency of climate action, this role demands transformative leadership — and FENRAD believes that Mrs. Majekodunmi is eminently qualified to provide just that.
“Her proven track record in environmental stewardship, policy innovation, and institutional development is both timely and inspiring.
“We are confident that under his guidance, the NCCC will scale up efforts in implementing Nigeria’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), advancing climate-smart policies, and strengthening Nigeria’s voice in international climate negotiations”, remarked Comrade Nwafor.
In recognition of the strategic importance of this role, FENRAD has also pledged its full support and readiness to collaborate with the NCCC under Mrs. Majekodunmi’s leadership.
